A few weeks after she celebrated her 35th birthday in Atlanta,
Georgia, United States, Nigeria's screen sweetheart, Omotola
Jalade-Ekeinde has finally made her debut in the glamorous American
television scene as she stars in an upcoming TV drama series, Bounce.
Omotola confirmed her new American project via the Twitter early this morning.
"Just had the most funtime on set with @ikimberlyelise. Beautiful
soul…GirlsRock #on set with beautiful method actor…God is
good..#paramount #hollywood onset…," she tweeted and followed it with
some location pictures of herself and kimberley Elise on instagram via

already in production and shot in Los Angeles, will see Omotola
starring alongside some of America's television and movie stars like
Kimberly Elise, Dean Cain, Charlotte Ross, Bernie Kopell, Eric Stoltz
and music star Akon.
The drama is a VH1 cable network series written and created by James
LaRosa. It is directed by Sanaa Hamri and has Maggie Malina as
executive producer.
It revolves around the Los Angeles Devil Girls, a preeminent dance
team in professional basketball. The series follows the lives of the
dancers especially Ahsha (Taylor Paige) who joins the dance team and
unaware of the treachery and temptation that comes with it.
"Bounce has all the elements we know VH1 viewers love; a world very
much on the pop culture radar, an incredible cast and compelling,
addictive storytelling. These are all set against a glamorous backdrop
where amazing dance numbers organically break out as part of the
story. We wanted to create a scripted series at VH1 in which music is
a strong narrative force, and we have found that with Bounce," said
Jeff Olde, VH1′s Executive Vice President, Original Programming and
Production, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Though Omotola' role has not been revealed, it is said that the
Nollywood star will play a significant role in the drama series
judging by the actress' talent mix of singing, dancing and acting. Her
role will also be buoyed by the excitement shown by the series
creator, LaRosa.
"Humbled to have the @realomosexy make her US TV debut on Bounce.
Africa in the house!" he tweeted.
Omotola has earned top billing spot in Africa's movie circuit with her
sexiness, talents and charisma. She notched more respect when she
became first Nigerian actress to have a reality show about her person
screened across the continent.
The show, Omotola: The Real Me, debuted on MNet's AfricaMagic in December 2012.
And with Bounce, industry watchers predict an easy breakthrough for
the mother of four into the highly prestigious mainstream Hollywood,
joining compatriot Sophie Okonedo and South Africa's Charlize Theron.
