Beyoncé issues an urgent call to action: ‘Stop Killing Us’


Over the past two days, two black men have been shot and killed by police officers. On Tuesday, July 5, 37-year-old Alton Sterling was killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Wednesday, 32 year-old Philando Castile was shot as he reached for his wallet during a traffic stop in Minnesota. Beyoncé has responded to the tragedies in a post on her website called ‘Freedom’ (also the name of her song with Kendrick Lamar on Lemonade). She issues an urgent call to action: ‘It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they ‘stop killing us.’ Read the full essay below.
