Jayso, Sarkodie and Efya team up to release short film for I'm In Love With Your Girlfriend

Rapper and producer Jayso has teamed up with rapper Sarkodie and songstress Efya to release a short film for their new single I'm In Love With Your Girlfriend.

The six-minute music video which embodies love, lust and greed was released at an impressive ceremony at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra Friday night.

The video tells the story of a couple, who are caught up in love web of a third party who was on a quest to break their union. Jayso, Sarkodie, Efya and Pokua Chante for the first time take up interesting characters in a movie which is puzzling and drama filled.

Born Paul Nuamah Donkor, Jayso told Myjoyonline.com in an interview after the premiere that the video was inspired by the song adding, 'The song is very complicated.'

According to him, I'm In Love With Your Girlfriend is 'the type of video you can't watch once and get [a clear picture of], you need to watch it again.'

Jayso explained that, the video was born out of their quest to challenge themselves to take music video production in Ghana a notch higher.

'We said lets shoot a short movie so for us it was like a challenge. We just wanted to do something different, something no one has tried before,' he said.

In spite of the busy schedules of Jayso, Sarkodie and Efya, the GH¢35,000 budget video, which was financed by Kasapreko, a leading local alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages produder, was shot and edited in two weeks.

Jayso, who is also the CEO of Skillions Records, disclosed that, 'Now we've seen about a six minute music video so definitely next time, we will probably do like a 10-minute or 15-minute production.'

'The listeners are very important to us, we don't want to do ordinary things for the listeners, we want to give them something that they can enjoy. It shouldn't be about women dancing and partying, it's too typical,' he observed.

He however hopes to challenge himself to produce a full movie in the near future.

The I'm In Love With Your Girlfriend video was shot and produced by Jayso's 6miludo Media. The same outfit was behind Jayso and Sarkodie's Pizza & Burger and Let'em Know Now videos.

Kasapreko used the occasion to launch five new exciting cocktail mixes produced with Kasapreko based liquors.

The five cocktail mixes; Alohito - Alomo Bitters based, Twist - Kalahari Bitters based, Kasa Virgin - Cardinal Liqueur based, Sweet Temptation - Cocoa Liqueur based; and Fresh Sunrise - Kasapreko London Dry Gin based were sampled by patrons at the event.

Apart from Jayso and Sarkodie, there were also exciting performances from Ben Brako and Efya.
