Prince George’s Royal Christening Ceremony: Who Will Be Attending?

Prince George’s baptism will be a truly intimate affair taking place on Oct. 23. The ceremony will be so small that even some close members of the royal family have reportedly been left off of the guest list! Find out who will be in attendance for the big occasion right here.
Kate Middleton and Prince William are planning their baby Prince George‘s christening ceremony. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are keeping the guest list short and the occasion intimate affair. Their pared-down invite list runs the risk of offending some high-profile royals, but the palace insists that the couple just wants to keep the baptism private and personal.

Prince George’s Christening — Who Will Be Attending?
The baptism ceremony will be a far less public and star-studded event than other royal affairs — especially in comparison to big occasions like Will and Kate’s wedding. The couple have decided to have George’s christening in The Chapel Royal — a venue far smaller and more personal than the Music Room at Buckingham Palace, where past royal baptisms have taken place. The palace has stated that there is no meaning behind the couple’s choice of the new location, that it is “simply a case of personal preference,” reported Entertainment Wise.

George has so many relatives that every one will not be invited.

“Prince William’s aunts, Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, have been left off the guest list,” reported The Daily Mail. George’s great-uncles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward were also reported to not be on the guest list.

Queen Elizabeth II will definitely be in attendance, as will her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Camilla Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry will also attend.

“We will announce the full guest list in due course when we are ready to do so,” Kensington Palace told The Daily Mail.
