Beautiful Sharon Hands Over On Saturday

The current Miss Malaika, Sharon Coffie’s reign comes to an end as she gets ready to hand over to a new queen on Saturday, October 12 at the National Theatre in Accra.

Ten beauties are vying for the bragging rights for the title of Miss Malaika. The delegates for the final are Twumwaa, Selma, Lois, Lordina, Yoda, Abigail, Naa Oyoe, Priscilla, Aisha and Betty.

However, the most buzzing question on the lips of most people is, which of these beautiful ladies will carry the day.

In a chat with Showbiz last Tuesday, the delegates who looked poised for the big night minced no words in extolling their individual unique talents and qualities that set them apart from the others.

For Sandra Ankobiah’s Queen’s group made of Lordina, Yoda, Lois and Abigail, they believe that they have received all the training from their mentor and would aptly put that to practice at the finals.

For Lordina, it is her hardworking nature and intelligence that will do the trick for her but Yoda believes her determination should get her the crown.

“My secret and only ambition is ‘beauty with brains’. That is what I am taking on the night” says Lois. For Abigail, her humility is a key to winning a Malaika crown.

What will Selma, Naa Oyoe, Twumwaa and Priscilla who make up the Team Joselyn group bring on board?

In the words of Selma, “My only strength is that I believe in myself and make positives out of negative situations. I am confident and ‘beautifully brainy’ ”.

Naa Oyoe says her eloquence and striking facial features should earn her the crown but Twumwaa believes her passion to be the next Malaika queen should get her to give off her best.

“I am bold, confident, daring, and intelligent and these are the qualities a queen should have and luckily for me, the Lord has blessed me with all these qualities” Priscilla said.

For Betty and Aisha of Hamamat’s Ohemaa group, they are ever ready to pull surprises after losing two of their group mates, Vincentia and Eugenia.

Betty said winning the Best Cat Walk and Miss Photogenic awards have boosted her confidence and sure to take that feeling to the finals but Aisha said “Being spontaneous is my secret weapon and I take counsel in good faith. With all these up my sleeve, why can’t I win Miss Malaika?

There is no doubt that this year’s Miss Malaika will ooze a lot of “girl power” with Efya, Eazzy, Raquel and Becca as performers on the night.
