chinua achibe dead

It has not  been confirmed yet but there are several reports suggesting that  Nigeria’s literary masters and globally celebrated novelist Albert Chínụ̀álụmọ̀gụ̀ Àchèbé also known as Chinua Achebe has kicked the bucket at the age of 82.
Pandemonium is tearing up through social networks Twitter and Facebook over several reports which say Achebe died last night in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The revered novelist’s family have not come out to confirm or deny the news.
Achebe is also reported to have taken ill a while ago.
Could it be another death rumour?: Just last week, Achebe’s son Chidi, retorted rumours that his father had passed away around that time. ‘This is lent season and I believe that this untrue gossip is spiritual distraction and I need to be in tune with God’, he told The Vanguard Newspapers.
Achebe, was born on November 16, 1930 in Ogidi, Anambra State.
His book Things Fall Apart, published in 1958, is considered the most widely read book in modern African Literature.
His recent book There Was a Country, an autobiography on his experiences and views of the civil war raised a lot of controversy, creating fresh discussions and perspectives about a very sensitive period in Nigeria’s history today
